Privacy Policy

Last updated July 16, 2026

This describes what RoleSignal collects, why, and how it’s used. We’re a small team building an early-stage product — if you have questions this page doesn’t answer, email us directly.

What we collect

Account information: your name and email, via Clerk (our authentication provider), when you sign up. Product data: the problem descriptions, signals, accounts, and notes you create inside your workspace. Usage data: which AI calls your workspace makes and their cost, so we can meter usage against your plan’s allowance.

We do not collect data from your personal browsing outside RoleSignal, and we don’t buy or aggregate personal data about you from third-party brokers.

What we don’t collect

The job postings RoleSignal analyzes are all publicly listed by companies on their own career sites or public job boards — we’re not scraping anything private, and we don’t collect personal information about the job seekers who apply to those roles.

How your workspace data is used

Your signals, accounts, and analysis are private to your workspace and, if you’re on a paid plan with teammates, visible to others in your organization. We don’t use your workspace’s specific data to train AI models, and we don’t share it with other customers.

Subprocessors

We rely on a small number of third-party services to run RoleSignal: Anthropic (AI analysis — your problem descriptions and job posting text are sent to Claude models to generate results), Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (application hosting), Clerk (authentication), and Stripe (payment processing, paid plans only). Each processes data only as needed to provide their part of the service.

Data retention & deletion

Your workspace data persists until you delete it or close your account. Deleting a signal removes its analysis; email us to delete your entire account and associated data.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest via our infrastructure providers. We don’t store payment card details ourselves — that’s handled entirely by Stripe.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves; material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
